January 25th was European Floral Design's Third Annual Wedding Open House. We often get questions from brides asking which flowers are in season for their wedding dates. So we decided to make seasonal arrangements the theme of this year's Wedding Open House. Our "Four Seasons of Weddings" theme highlighted typical flowers and colors used in winter, summer, spring, and fall events. We wanted brides and their families to see our work and our extensive rentals collection.
It was a beautiful Sunday in Athens. Our staff arrived early to finish some last minute touches. Sophie (Magdalena's King Charles Cavalier who is commonly referred to as our "store manager") took an early nap while the rest of us anticipated the beginning of the Wedding Open House.
Brides and their families arrived around noon brimming with questions and design ideas for their particular events. Everyone dined on hors d'oeuvres and sipped on punch as they admired the arrangements.
The spring arrangements highlighted yellow tulips, accented with green grass. The fall arrangements utilized fall leaves, dark roses, and lush greenery all in custom tree-bark centerpieces. The winter arrangements were shown with dark acorns, glass containers that resembled ice, and all white flowers. And lastly, the summer arrangements included colorful roses and blue hydrangea in silver containers.
Guests lounged in our tea room for hours enjoying the flowers and brainstorming. Fortunately, were able to answer everyone's questions by the time 5 o'clock came around. Overall, the Third Annual Wedding Open House was a memorable success.
